All Hope Is Lost!

Acts 27:20 "...when all hope of being saved was lost."

Jeremiah 29:11 "...to give you a future and a hope."

Proverbs 13:12 "...hope deferred {put off} makes the heart sick."

In the day that we live, it seems that a lot of people have lost hope. In the Book of Acts, Paul and the men he was with, were witnessing this. It seemed all was going to be lost. Yet, he received instructions from the Lord. Hope was once again in sight. Nothing had changed at the time, but faith arose in him in the midst of the trouble and gave him strength. God's Word brings strength. Get in His Word, you will find HOPE!. The REST of your days can be the BEST of your days.

Thank you Father that Your Word is full of hope. You have a great future for me, and I refuse to have any less than your best in my life. My hope and expectancy is in you. It is not in what others say, but in what You say concerning me. I live with expectancy, that the REST of my days will be the BEST of my days!

God Doesn’t Care!

Romans 8:37..."nothing can separate us from the love of God."
II Corinthians 12:9..."My grace is sufficient for you."

We need to know that God doesn’t care where you have been or what you have done. He is concerned about you future, about your tomorrow. He forgives and forgets about yesterdays and puts you on the right path for today. His grace is sufficient for you and me, and His love for us is unconditional. We are not accustom to this kind of love. He loved me when I wasn’t lovable. You may have failed at many things in your past. Failing does not make you a failure. God specializes in taking a nobody and making a somebody of them. With out Him we are all nobody! Allow God’s grace to be sufficient for you. Except His love and ability to give you a bright tomorrow.

Thank you Father for your love and grace that you show me. I am so grateful that because of you I am a somebody. Even when I was not loveable, You showered me with Your love. Your grace is sufficient in my life. My future is bright because you are my light.

Finish Your Race

II Timothy 4:7- "I have finished the race."
Acts 20:24- "...that I may finish my race with joy!"

I once ran in a marathon in Fairfield, Texas. I wasn’t concerned with winning, I just wanted to finish. I did, and was even second in my age group! We ought to have an attitude to win, but at least to finish. How many things have you started out to do and never finished? The Apostle Paul went through so many situations, yet he always continued doing the right thing, knowing that God would help him to finish. I left my job 28 years ago to go into ministry. Like you, I have had plenty opportunities to quit. I made up my mind to finish. I haven’t finished yet, but I am still in the race. I hope you are still doing what God has called you to do. It will be worth it all when you finish. If you have laid something down, pick it up again, and finish your race.

Thank you Father that you not only call us to do things, but you also equip us to get it done. I can do all things through Christ that gives me the strength. I refuse to quit. If I have laid something down, I take it up again. I will finish my race with joy. I want to hear you say, well done.

Bright Days Ahead!

Jeremiah 29:11- "...my thoughts for you are good and not evil..."
II Corinthians 1:20- "all the promises of God are yes and amen"

When we get our thinking in line with His, we will see things in a different light. Problems can produce darkness, God’s Word will always bring light. He says that His Word is a lamp and a light unto our path. Another place, He tells us to walk in the light as He is the light. How do you get His light to shine for you? You began to speak His Word over the problem. Just as you spread butter on bread, so you speak light into darkness. It doesn’t take a lot of light to see through the dark. Speak some light into your dark and see what God has in store for you.

Thank you Father that Your Word is my light. I choose to speak Your Word into my darkness. Darkness flees when light shows up. Your Word speaks of a future for me filled with hope. I believe that I receive according to Your Word. Thank You for a path that is sure. A path that I can see a way out of any trouble. I trust You and I trust Your Word, my days ahead are bright!

Give Thanks

Psalm 100:4 "...be thankful to Him and bless His name…"
Verse 5
"...for the Lord is good…"
I Thessalonians 5:18
"In everything give thanks…"

I don’t know what you are going through as you read this column. You may have some things going on that have tested your faith, or even tired your mind and body. In the middle of it all, God’s Word still tells us to give thanks. Why would He require us to give thanks? Because in the middle of your situation, you are still acknowledging Him as God. As you do this He has every right to get involved in your life. You are not thanking Him for the struggles, but for His participation in your life that will change things on your behalf. Everyday should be a day of Thanksgiving.

Thank you Father that you do care about everything that I have to face in life. You are always faithful to Your Word. Thank You for always being mindful of me. You are a good God at all times. In anything, and everything I face, I will honor You by giving You thanks.

From my Family to yours,
Happy Thanksgiving!

Don’t Give Up!

Galatians 6:9.…."Let us not grow weary while doing good"
Jeremiah 1:12... "I watch over My Word to perform it"

Sometimes giving up is easier than hanging in there, but anyone can give up! The Bible calls it weariness. We don’t just become weary overnight. It has to grow on us. Have you become weary lately because of a situation that is not working out as quickly as you would like? Weariness is a product of our thinking. Stop thinking that way. The Word says, "In due season you will reap if you do not quit". Began to declare, I have a due season on its way and I refuse to give up and quit. God is watching over His Word to perform it!

Thank you Father that Your Word is Truth. I walk by faith according to Your Word. I will not allow weariness to control my thoughts. I will stay with Your Word, and I know that it will not fail. I choose to praise You for Your Word that always prevails. I have a due season that can come forth any time, I refuse to quit!

Wrong Ain’t Right!

Psalm 37:3,4&5 "…trust.... delight.... and commit your ways to the Lord"
Psalm 119:105 "Your Word is a lamp and light unto my path"

We live in a day when it seems anything goes. Some of the things that we use to see as wrong, now it has become right. We as Christians need a standard that we can live by. I believe that should be the Word of God. The Word is not difficult to live by when our attitude and priorities are right. When our desire is to please Him, and not them, it will not be a burden, but a blessing for us to follow. God says that His Word is a "lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path." He declares that in His Word, we will find rest for our soul.

Father I thank you for you Word, that it is always right and never wrong. In it there is direction, protection and fulfillment. Thank you for helping me to follow your ways, knowing that my days can be days of peace. Help me to see Your Word as a delight and never a burden. I will strive to place great value upon Your Word. I will set it as a standard for my life.

I Have Value
Psalm 139:14 "I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
Ephesians 2:10
"I am His workmanship created in Christ Jesus."

I think that we fail to see just how valuable that we are in God's eyes. He placed so much value upon you that He gave His own son to die for you. The Bible says that you are a part of the Body of Christ. Though there are many members, you have a place, a part in that body. Your life counts for something. God placed so much value on you that He made you only a little lower than Himself! You may have been what you thought as a nobody, but through Jesus Christ you have been made a somebody!

Father, I thank you that you place great value upon my life. Since value is determined by what someone is willing to pay. You showed how much you valued me by giving Your Son to die for me. He paid for my sins, and allowed me to become a part of the Body of Christ. I am Yours and You are mine. I have great value because of You! Amen.

Psalm 78:7-- "That they may set their HOPE in God"
Proverbs 13:12-- "HOPE deferred makes the heart sick."
Romans 5:5--
"And HOPE does not disappoint."

You have to get this on the inside of you- there is ALWAYS hope in God! He is the giver of hope, and without Him, you can be helpless and hopeless. God’s Word always gives His people hope. It always encourages and never discourages. I have heard people say, “Don’t get your hopes ups”. To that I say, “Go ahead, get your hopes up!” As long as you have God’s Word to back you, then hope big, and add a little rejoicing in with it. That is faith and faith pleases God.

Thank you Father that I can have hope in You. I expect Your promises to come to pass in my life. My hope in You will never disappoint me. I can hope “BIG” because You are a big God. I chose to get my hopes up now, and refuse to believe for anything less than your best in my life.

TMI- To Much Information!

Proverbs 3:5&6- "...trust in the Lord with all your heart…"

Psalm 91:11- "...for He shall give His angels charge over me…"

In the day we live, we are filled with information. I think there has always been trouble through out the world, we just didn’t know it like we do now. We have live news at our disposal. I am not saying that is all bad, yet it can cause us to began to worry and be afraid. Awareness is good, fear and worry is not! I am glad that we can trust God in the day we live. Don’t allow the news you hear control your life. God is still God! He will still be with us to protect and meet all of our needs. Like the old song says, “God will take care of you, through every day along life’s way, He will take care of you, God will take care of you.”

Thank you Father that you will take care of me and my household. I am so glad that I can look to You, trust in You, and know that You are my supply and protection. Your Word always brings good news to me today and my tomorrow. The words that I receive form Your Word will bring me peace. I will not be afraid, I will trust in You. Amen.

The Great Exchange!

II Corinthians 5:21- "...that we might become the righteousness of God."
I Corinthians 2:12- "We have received the Spirit who is from God… "

Jesus took our sinfulness and imparted to us His righteousness. Which means if you know Jesus as Savior, we are in right standing with God. That does not mean we have reached perfection in the eyes of men, but we have in the eyes of God. We can now stand in the presence of God through the precious blood of Christ. You and I were once a "nobody," but He has made us to be "some body." We are not bragging on us, but on Him and all that He has accomplished for us. We can at anytime come to Him and find help in a time of need.

Thank you Father for making me someone I could never be on my own. Righteous in your sight. I will not think of myself as anything less or anything more than what you think of me. Thank you that I can stand in your presence without any sense of guilt, shame, inferiority, or condemnation.

I’m Special!

II Corinthians 10:12-13 "We do not compare ourselves with others…"
Romans 12:6
"We have gifts that differ according to the grace given us."
{please read these scriptures}

We live in a day where so many “compare” their lives to others. The cars they drive, clothes they wear, houses they live in and even their size. You were created to be YOU. “Things” can be a blessing in life, but being envious of others is not being thankful for who you are and what you have.
I think we should do our best to be “all we can be”. You have great potential inside you. When God called me into ministry, He knew what He placed in me that I did not even know was there. You are special to God. I am so glad that He did not make us all a like. Be all God called you to be, and that is where you will find peace.

Thank you Father that I am me. You have made me special. My desire, is to be all that you have destined me to be. Thank you for helping me change the things that I need to change, in order to be pleasing in your sight. I can do all things through You because YOU are my strength. Amen.

Word From The Word {October}

Hello Blessed Ones

Is this weather great or what? I can handle a lot of this, even a little cooler works for me! We are funny creatures sometimes.... We want cool when its hot, warm when its cold! You would think that we are hard to please or something!!

I am glad that the God we serve is not that fickle or hard to please! He just tells us- "with out faith, you cannot please me." That shouldn’t be too difficult of a task. Just believe in Him, trust Him, don’t waver and He will get involved in your life.

I preached a message entitled, “ A Revelation of Nothing”. I believe that we need to get a revelation of- nothing is ever impossible with God! If you can find His Word on the matter then you should believe it, declare it and stand until you get the victory.

The Word says more that just, "I can do all things." It says it is through Christ! It's His word that enables me to do all things! When I have His word on it- that is my strength, ability, power and proof.

I pray that you will have a "revelation of nothing" and that you experience victory in every area of your life. Have a great October.

Wednesday's Weapon! {09.29.10}

Proverbs 12:25 "Worry or anxiety in the heart of a man causes depression."

Philippians 4:6 "Don’t worry about anything but pray about everything."

One of the greatest weapons that can be used against us is worry. Worry is always an enemy to our faith and trust in God. You can’t worry and have faith at the same time. Worry will keep you up at night, it can even harm your physical body. Jesus knew all this and He made sure that we knew it to. If something harms you then you would want to stop doing it, right? Worry harms us, so lets trust God and stop doing it!

Thank you Father for making me aware of the harm that worry can have on my life. Every time I realize that I am worrying, I will be reminded to pray. Help me to focus on your goodness toward me. That you will never leave or forsake me in my times of trouble. I release every opportunity to worry and exchange it for praise to you. I place my trust in you.

Wednesday's Weapon! {09.22.10}

Matthew 11:29 Jesus says, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.”

The definition of yoke means "to be hooked up to." It was a harness placed upon two oxen. It caused them to plow or work together. When one of them became tired and weak, the other one helped to keep pulling until they could get in sync again.
Jesus is offering to you and me His yoke! He is saying I will help you to make it. When you feel weak and tired, just trust me to help you along and allow you to rest.

Jesus, I take Your yoke upon me. I realize that with out you I will grow weary and faint. I ask for your help, your strength and wisdom in my life. I expect to learn from you. Thank you that I don’t have to go through life alone and that you have provided for me a way to be strengthened.

Wednesday's Weapon

Philippians 4:19 "For my God shall supply ALL my needs according to His riches."
Ephesians 3:20 "He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think."

In the days that we live a lot of people are struggling with not having enough. Not enough patience, not enough money, not enough time and on and on it goes. God can help you in this area of your life. Again, His help comes through your asking and believing in faith.

Thank you Father for involving yourself with my life. You are my supply. You are more than enough God, a God of abundance. Today I believe that all of my needs will be met and that I will have enough of everything I need to enjoy this day and every day that you give me. Amen!

Wednesday's Weapon! {09.08.10}

Wednesday is know as “hump” day. You have made the first half of the week and now you are on your way to the second half. By now you may be needing a "Weapon" {scripture} from the Word that will get you through the rest of the week. I will call it:

"Wednesday’s Weapon!"

Philippians 4:13-- "I can do all things through Christ that gives me strength."

Regardless what you may be facing this week, God is eager to get involved and help you. How does He do that? It comes through your asking Him to in faith.

"God, I am asking for your involvement in my life. I declare as your child that I can, and do have Your strength, wisdom and peace.
On my own I am limited, but with Your help, limitations are removed. I release those things that I have struggled with to You. Worry, fear and confusion is overcome by Your strength that You have so graciously offered me. I receive Your strength in my life. The rest of this week I will remind myself that I CAN do all things through Christ that strengthen me! Amen!"

September- Word From The Word

Hello Blessed Ones!

I pray that all is good with you and yours. It seems like a long Summer, but maybe the end is near. Our Grandkids are all in school and getting into their routine. Hopefully by the time you get this letter we have had some much needed rain. I am glad that we know the maker of the rain!

I preached a message entitled, “Bent Not Broken”. I used the analogy of the Palm tree. God designed it to bend all the way over with out breaking. It can take a licking and keep on ticking!

Sometimes life can dish out things that can bend you over and many times I see people broken as a result of it. God has designed us to take a licking yet keep on ticking. We may have to go through some things but we know that when the storm has passed we will still be standing tall.

I read where a Palm trees root system actually got stronger after a storm and as a result gave opportunity for more growth to the tree. So whatever you are going through right now, stand tall and get ready for growth as a result of the storm.

I pray and believe that the rest of your days will be the best of your days!

If you are in the Franklin Texas area September 11, I will be speaking at Franklin Worship Center with Pastor Rodney & Billie Joe Box. Services are at 7:00pm.

July- Word From The Word

Hello Blessed Ones! I pray all is well with you and yours!

This past Fathers Day, I preached a message entitled, “Who’s Yo Daddy?”. I am glad to know who my earthly daddy is, but also to know who my Heavenly Father is.

Different places in the Bible it tells us that we are adopted into the family of God "as sons where as we cry out Abba, Father."

In Buffalo, that just means "Daddy, Daddy!" Who’s Yo Daddy? It sure is a good thing to know.

We found that as sons, we are heirs, even joint heirs with Christ Jesus. That means that we have an inheritance.

As you read the Word you will find blessings, promises and favors that BELONG to you as heirs and as children of the Most High God.

Play "Who's Yo Daddy?" below and remember, you can hear many other sermons on our church website HERE

As you listen to this message I pray that you will see how blessed that you are to be a part of the Family of God.

June- Word From The Word

Hello Blessed Ones!

Greetings in the name of Jesus! I hope all is well with you and yours.
I preached a message recently, entitled, “Are We There Yet?.” My kids were always ask me that questions five minutes after leaving the house. No, we are not there yet, but we are on our way.

I don’t know where you are in your life right now. You may have arrived, everything may be great, even if you haven’t arrived yet you need to know that you are on your way to triumph.

Paul said that we are to "run in such a way that we may win." In this message, I talked about, “such a way”.

While we are headed to better, to victory and triumph, we are to run in “such a way” that we show our trust and confidence in our God. How do we do that? Look like a winner, sound like a winner and not a whiner!

James says to "count it all joy when you have trouble." Problems are not joyful, but if you know your end result is lacking nothing and complete, that ought to give you some joy along the way.

I hope this message will be a blessing to you and that you look like and sound like a winner on your way to triumph.

May- Word From The Word

Hello Blessed Ones

I pray as you read this that all is well with you and yours. We are living in a day that we are seeing the Glory of God moving on behalf of His people. I believe that the rest of our days are going to be the best of our days!

One of the things that I believe in the days ahead is that we are going to need the peace of God. I preached a message entitled, Peace Is A Place. What I mean by that is, peace is a place of safety, supply, contentment and rest. The Bible says that we are to enter into His rest, it even says that we are to be diligent to enter in.

Psalm 34 says that we are to seek peace and pursue it. That sounds like we are to go after it. In John 14 Jesus says, "My peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you." Obviously then peace is available to us.

I think that right in the middle of adversity there is still peace available to keep you from being overcome by the situation and allow you to deal with it with the wisdom of God, strength, confidence and peace.

I have made this statement many times, “Peace is a place where faith works at its best.” When you are in His peace, faith works its best because you are giving no place to worry, doubt or fear.

To hear this message, "Peace Is A Place" simply go to our website and click on the SERMONS tab or click HERE and scroll down to find it. I pray as you hear this message that faith will rise up in you to a place that you enter into His peace and you find rest for your soul. Peace is a place where you can cast your cares on Him knowing that He cares for you.

April- Word From The Word

I hope you are enjoying the Spring like weather that we are having. I love this time of year when everything seems to come alive again. Just a few short weeks ago things looked to be dead forever.

I would have loved being around on the day that Jesus raised up from the grave. When they placed Him in the tomb they knew He was dead. On the third day when they went to the tomb, He was not there!

The angel said, “why do you seek the living among the dead, He is not here He is risen!” That makes me shout a little, He is not here, He is risen. I have never been to the tomb, I don’t have to in order to know that it is empty.

I did however have to make my way to the cross one day many years ago. O, I never saw the real cross that Jesus hung on for me, but with my faith in the Word of God I showed up there and realized what Jesus had done on it was for me and because of me.

He did not have to give His life for me, but He chose to. I did not have to give my life to Him, but I chose to. At that time I was dead to, spiritually speaking. Then suddenly, just as everything now is coming back to life, I came alive in Him.

Regardless what seasons that I face in life, He keeps me alive and well. With the strength and ability to overcome and to always rise up the victor. I am so glad that He is not still on the cross, nor can He be found in the tomb, but if you look beyond my outward flaws as a person and look inside my heart, you will find where He abides.

I hope you have a great Easter and that you remember that Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Word From The Word- February

Greeting in the name of Jesus! I hope you have had a good start to this new year. I don’t know about you but I am ready for Spring. I know it doesn’t get as cold here as it use to and that is just fine with me. Bring on the warm!

I preached a message entitled, “Chosen Not Frozen”. You know that anything frozen is lifeless, it just sits there and does nothing. If you get ice in your water line it causes a hindrance and the water can’t flow as it should.

To many times I think we allow things to hinder us from flowing as we should for the Kingdom of God. Even those little things can stop the “flow” and we find ourselves just sitting there doing nothing productive.

The Word says that you are a chosen vessel {I Peter2:9} I would encourage you to read this passage in the Message Bible translation. It Says that 'you were once a nobody but now you are a somebody. You were once rejected but now you are the accepted.'

You are the Chosen of God to be on the move doing your part for the Kingdom of God. We can all do something. So do something least you do nothing!
